2022 marks the limited render of in-person Cherry Bloom programming in West Fairmount Park that volition celebrate both Japanese and American culture in a new format that better incorporates the local neighborhood of Parkside, West Philadelphia. Instead of a unmarried-day festival, nosotros will be presenting the Sakura Concert Serial over three days on the weekend of Apr 8-ten.

Free, NON-TICKETED and open up to the public, this event will explore the intersections of Japanese and African American civilisation, from traditional to contemporary, through a range of musical performances by multi-ethnic Hip Hop, Jazz, and Percussion musicians. CHERRY BLOSSOM VIEWING MAP

In Japan, cherry blossoms are the ephemeral marker of spring's arrival, appreciated and admired by picnicking under the ruddy trees and walking through groves and alleles of the pink blossoms. JASGP planted 1000 cherry copse from 1998 to 2007 to broaden the 1600 reddish trees gifted past the Japanese government to Philadelphia in 1926.
